• My counter (currently SiteMeter) collects information such as IP address and User agent. This data is only stored in aggregate, so I can extract information such as the most commonly used browser.
• I use cookies in a couple of my live examples, but only to store your preferences, or to demonstrate cookies. I don't care if you delete them, or restrict their use - my site will be fine. Cookies are necessary if you wish to stay signed-in as a member.
