| My site as a whole is designed to run on virtually any browser, since there is very little client-side script used. Where it is used, it is generally for optional features, and will "degrade gracefully" - meaning that I try to provide as much functionality as the browser can support. All the client-side JavaScript on the site is tested with Internet Explorer 5.0. Today this covers 69% of my visitors - IE 4 brought that up to 85%! So, very little testing has been performed with other browsers like Netscape and Opera. I will try to cope with their requirements at some point, but with only 15% market share don't hold your breath! After all, the worst that will happen is that some of the client-side JavaScript demonstrations won't work. |
